Here are some ways you can help keep the roads safe – for you, your family, and other drivers.

Car Maintenance: we talk about this one a lot because it’s SO important! The best way to keep your Mercedes-Benz in optimal condition is to keep up with its maintenance.  Standard maintenance includes Service A and Service B at the prescribed intervals.  In addition, regularly rotating your tires (and replacing them when necessary) can improve your fuel economy while ensuring that the rest of your vehicle’s safety features are able to work properly.  You can find your service manual here.  Can’t remember the last time you brought your vehicle in for service? You can book your next appointment online, at whichever dealership is most convenient for you: Mercedes-Benz of Boston, Flagship Motorcars of Lynnfield, or Mercedes-Benz of Natick

Stay Alert:  While your Mercedes-Benz is equipped with a range of features to help keep you safe – including Attention Assist and PRE-SAFE – there is no substitution for an alert and attentive driver.  Calls and texts can wait until you’ve made it to your destination.   If you need to stay connected, pairing your Mercedes-Benz and your phone via Bluetooth allows you to do so safely without taking your eyes off the road.

Buckle Up: “Click it or ticket” does more than just save you the unnecessary expense of getting a ticket – it also helps to keep you and your passengers safe!  Buckle your seatbelt every time you get behind the wheel of your Mercedes-Benz, and make sure that your passengers know to do the same.  Of course, going hand-in-hand with this is to make sure that your children are always properly buckled in and secured in the appropriate rear or front-facing car seat or booster seat.  Our dealerships occasionally host safety seat clinics, but if you’re unsure if your child is in the right proper seat, you can always contact your local fire station or police department via the non-emergency phone number for assistance.

Drive Sober:  Never drive under the influence.  Based on statistics compiled by MADD, in 2015, there were over 10,000 deaths and more than 250,000 injuries as a result of drunk driving.  If you’re going out, stay safe and plan ahead: get a designated driver, hand over your keys, or ask the bartender to call you a taxi.  The risk simply isn’t worth it – drive sober or get pulled over.

Wherever the road takes you this year, drive safely!
